Yes, there are several hosting options available. Our hosting options provide you with a standard hosting environment: FTP access, email accounts, databases, etc. Your hosting account can include additional webpages (including entire websites) in addition to the Modular Merchant shopping cart software that powers your online store.
"CAN I LEAVE MY WEBSITE RUNNING WHERE IT IS WHILE I SET UP THE VERSION THAT'S HOSTED WITH YOU?"
Yes, if you're moving a website that's currently hosted elsewhere, then you can leave that site up and running under its domain name while you are setting up your store and website with us. During the setup process, your Modular Merchant hosting account will be accessible under its IP address. That way, you can still connect to the website hosted by us using FTP, and set up email accounts, all while your "live" website is still hosted elsewhere under your domain name. Then, once you're ready, you can point your domain to our servers, and the website you have hosted with us will go live.
"DO I STILL OWN MY DOMAIN NAME IF I HOST MY WEBSITE WITH YOU?"
Yes. Our hosting options don't require you to transfer ownership or control of your domain name to us. You simply point your domain to our servers, and you're free to point it somewhere else at any time if you ever decide to change to a different service provider. |
