The cross sell editor screen is split
into two steps. In step one, select the "parent" products, categories and
manufacturers. In step two, select the related products, categories and
manufacturers that you would like to display when the parent product(s) are
present in the customer's shopping basket, or when their Product Details page
is viewed in the storefront.
Step
1 of 2: Select this rule's "parent" products, categories and manufactures.
Name
this rule: This name of the rule assigned to the cross sell rule. The name is
used only internally by store administrators. Customers never see the name of a
cross sell rule.
Is
this active?: Only active cross sell rules are used and displayed in
your storefront. Making a cross sell rule inactive allows you to temporarily
remove it from your storefront without deleting it, just in case you may want
to use it again later.
Make
rule reciprocal?: If this option is selected, then the rule will include a
reciprocal relationship between the parent and related selection. For example, I
create a rule in which the product Apples
are related to Oranges.
Without the Make rule reciprocal? option selected, Oranges
will be listed as a related product when viewing the Apples product. The relationship is just one-way. However, with the Make rule reciprocal option selected, Oranges will be listed as a related product when viewing Apples and Apples will be listed
as a related product when viewing Oranges. The relationship now goes both ways.
Source
Products: Select any individual parent product(s) associated with this cross
sell rule. When the selected product(s) are present in the customer's shopping
basket, or their Product Details page is viewed in the storefront, the store
will generate the list of related cross sell products.
Source
Manufacturers: Select parent manufacturer(s) for the cross sell rule.
Any products that are associated
with the selected manufacturer(s) will trigger the generation of the list of
related cross sell products.
Source
Categories: Select parent categories for the cross sell rule. Any products that are associated with the
selected categories will trigger the generation of the list of related cross
sell products.
Step
2 of 2: Select the related products, manufacturers and categories that will be
displayed when the "parent" product(s) are present.
Related
Products: Select the individual related product(s). The presence of the "parent" products will generate a list of cross sell products, which will
include the individual related products selected here.
Related
Manufacturers: Select the individual related manufacturer(s). The presence
of the "parent" products will generate a list of cross sell products, which
will include all of the products
associated with the manufacturer(s) selected here.
Related
Categories: Select the individual related categories. The presence of the "parent"
products will generate a list of cross sell products, which will include all of the products associated with the
categories selected here.
